POEM: Letting Go

I heard an old lady say
“The older I get, I can’t see too far
But I can see things for what they truly are”
As far as my eyes can’t see
There’s a place where my heart bleeds
And I believe love can’t be
This horrific
I won’t get specific
My life’s paparazzi’s mistress, Anti-tabloids and public pictures
So I sing in a private silence
Watch his life walk by bliss
And oh how I miss him
Nothing sounds good in his goodbye
It's understood
But too permanent,
I've cried pain-staking miles across burning sands
I'm tired

So I’ll let go
Let butterfly wings spread
Let his hope live to leave his discontent dead
Logic and thought move my heart's legs
I'm walking from this
I hate this part
But they say when one thing ends,
Another one starts

God be with me
I'm single
